Lovi Poe recently has had a transformation of look and image. But I always appreciate simplicity in a woman even with stars. I remember shooting her winning a Best actress award for her debut lead role, a Cinemalaya film by Dan Villegas (Mayohan). She came across as sweet, young and talented. Now they’ve vamped her up with sexier clothes and heavier make up.

When I saw her again at the “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” float she just had her hair up and even had a camera in hand.  She snapped pictures of the crowd, waving at fans and she had her beaming smile. That’s when she reminded me of the sweet, young talented actress I shot barely 2 years ago. If you’re really beautiful you don’t need make up to cover your face. She showed that in t-shirt and jeans.

The cast is impressive for the romance drama with Maricel Soriano, Gabby Concepcion, Jericho Rosales, Carla Abellana, and Solenn Heussaff. Solenn was waving to the crowd beauty queen style. She’s quite modest about her acting abilities but I think she’ll be able to show her skills in this role.
