In a rousing evening gala, CCP Artistic director Chris Millado had to raise his voice above the raucous applause, “Nais nating pa salamatan ang mga partners natin. This year napaka special ng PASINAYA dahil nagkaroon tayo ng mga partner Museums! Lumawak ang PASINAYA sa iba’t ibang cultural institutions sa Maynila.”

The speech was given after a spirited performance by the NAMCYA winner Baao Children & Youth Choir, Ramon Obusan Flokloric Group Tanghalang Pilipino Sandosenang Sapatos cast , Ballet Philippines, Philippine Madrigal Singers and Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

The PASINAYA festival was held last March 16, 2014 at the CCP. Now on its 10th year, it has attracted thousands to appreciate Filipino music, dance, theater, award winning short films and even food.CCP Artistic Director Chris Millado described, “The PASINAYA is a multi-arts festival so it involves all the arts. Not only the 7 arts but festivals, street dances, markets, food trucks and even popular entertainment at some point.”

The success of the fest has expanded to include Metropolitan Museum of Manila, 1335 Mabini, Mabuhay Restop, Bahay Tsinoy, NCCA Gallery, Casa Manila, Museo Pambata, National Art Gallery, Museum of the Filipino People.

What the PASINAYA does according to Millado is build momentum for other events as well, “Now we even have Museums and exhibits. Of course through out the year we have genre specific festivals, orchestra festival, dance festival, guitar festival. This builds audiences to these specialized festivals.”

FLUTOPIA ‘FLUTE REVELRIES’ FESTIVAL 2014 which runs from March 27-29 at the CCP Little Theater. The first international flute festival in the country, Flutopia ‘Flute Revelries’ Festival 2014 promises to be an exciting event which include workshops, masterclasses, flute warm ups, meditation and yoga for musicians, flute repair by Marumatsu technicians from Japan, flute industry exhibits, lobby concerts and a gala concert at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino. Special guests include Chilean-born renowned flutist Viviana Guzman and Thai flutist Kalaya Phongsathorn.
